Default The Punishment for Breaking the Fast in Ramadan

Islam is the most practiced religion in the world. Muslims are present in almost every region of the world. It is the psychology of every Muslims to get to know about their religion, its aspects, it is the most asked Question of the people that what is the Punishment for breaking the fast in the Ramadan.

As it is an interesting thing to know about the punishment for breaking the fast in Ramadan so today I will throw some light on this issue. It is an obligation to every Muslim to keep the fast in the month of Ramadan. No-doubt breaking of fast in the month of Ramadan has the great sin. As Allah says in Quran,

“Oh, believers! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may become the pious”

It has been narrated in Bukhari that ones the Holy Prophet say as follows,

“There are five pillars of Islam they are testimony that there is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, establishing prayer, paying zakat, Hajj and fasting Ramadan.”

As we can see from the above-mentioned Hadith that the one who will not fast in the month of Ramadan has abandoned one of the pillars of Islam, and he is committing a grave major sin. In another place in the Holy Quran Allah says as follows,

“Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan, a guidance of mankind and guidance between right and wrong. So, whoever of you sights the first night of the month of Ramadan, he must keep fasts for the whole month, and whoever is ill or on a journey, the same number of days which one did not keep fasts must do on the other days. Allah makes things easy for you, and want to make things difficult for you. You must complete the same number of fast you left in the month of Ramadan.”

As you can see from the above verse that you don’t have to leave the fasts in Ramadan if you are ill or on a journey then you can leave but you have to complete the days of fasts.

It has been reported that ones the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said as follows,

“The one who doesn’t fast in the month of Ramadan without being ill or having any other excuse that allows him not to fast is evilly than the adultery or drunk, indeed they doubted his Islam and thought that this was sacrilege.”

It has been reported that ones the Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said about those who don’t fast as follows,

I saw people hanging by their legs muscles, with the sides of their mouths wavering and blood coming out from their mouths.’

    Holy Prophet (P.B.U.H) said,

    Who are they?’

    Angels said,

These are people who broke their fast before it was time.’”

As you can see the punishments for breaking the fast in Ramadan. It is the deep interest in the people to go for the Umrah in the month of Ramadan because doing Umrah in the month of Ramadan has the reward equal to that of Hajj.
