The primary objective of The Arabic for Media and Journalism Program is to familiarize students of Arabic with the methods of writing, reading, translating, and listening to different types of Arabic Media. An emphasis is placed on written and electronic media, with sources from authentic Arabic newspapers and online news agencies such as Al-Jazeera. Students will become familiar with the most common words and expressions found in written and electronic media sources. By the end of the course, students will not only have greatly improved their comprehension of Arabic media but also their ability to express ideas and opinions through written Arabic.
Level 1 of the Arabic for Media and Journalism Program consists of 3 hours of classroom instruction per day for 8 weeks.
