Nadia's Story Told Through Her Tears: The Americans Have Raped Me Like This!

    Jan 29, 2007

This article is dedicated to every Muslim who still has blood running in his veins. Nadia is one of the victims of the American mercenaries in Abu Ghraib prison. She was detained for unknown reasons. When she was released from the prison, didn't throw herself into the arms of her family as most of the oppressed prisoners released have done dose, especially when he is being fuelled by the fire of the oppression and a yearning for his family. Simply, Nadia escaped immediately after she left prison, not because of the shame that will follow her because of some crime she has committed but because of what she and the other Iraqi captive women have been subject to; rape, and torture by the hands of the American mercenaries in Abu Gharib prison. The walls of the prison tell many tragic stories but what Nadia tells is the living truth and a living hell.

    Nadia begins her story:

I was visiting one of my relatives, and suddenly the American forces attacked the home and started to inspect it. They found some light weapons. So, they arrested all people in the home including me. I tried to explain to the interpreter, who was accompanying the American patrol, that I am just a visitor. However, my trials failed. I cried, begged them, and I lost consciousness from fear when they took me to Abu Gharib prison. Nadia continues they put me alone in a dark and dirty prison cell. I expected that I will be released soon, especially when the investigation proved that I hadn't committed a crime Nadia elaborated while tears poured down her cheek, a telling sign of just how much she has suffered. The first day was so burdensome. The cell was malodorous, humid and dark, and this condition increased the fear inside me more and more. The laughs of the soldier outside the cell made me even more scared. I was afraid of what would happen to me. For the first time I felt that I was in a difficult gridlock and that I had entered an unknown world that I would not get out of. In the middle of these different feelings, I heard a voice for an American soldier woman who was speaking in an Arabic language. She said to me: I didn't imagine that the weapons traders in are women. When I started to explain to her the circumstances of the situation, she beat me cruelly. I cried and shouted By Allah! I am oppressed, By Allah! I am oppressed, the soldier showered me with insults in a way that I have never thought possible or that I would ever be subjected to under any circumstances. Then, she started to deride me saying that she was monitoring me all the day via the satellite, and that they can track their enemies even inside their own bedrooms by American technology.

Then she laughed and said: I was watching you when you were making love with your husband. I replied in a confused voice but I am not married. She beat me for more than one an hour and she forced me to drink a glass of water, and I knew later that they put a drug in it. I regained my consciousness after two days to find myself naked. I knew immediately that I have lost something that all the laws in the earth will not be able to return it to me once again. I had been raped. A hysterical fit attacked me and I started to hit my head violently against the walls till more than five American soldiers head by that soldier women entered the cell and started to beat me, and they raped me alternately while they laughing and listening to a loud music. Day by day the scenario of raping me was repeated. And every day they invent new ways that are crueler than the prior ways. She went on describing the horrible acts of the American criminals: After about one month, a Negro soldier entered my cell and threw me two pieces of American military clothes. He said in weak Arabic language to wear them. After he put a black bag on my head, he led me to a public toilet where there are pipes for cold and hot water and he asked me to bathe. He then closed the door and left. I was so exhausted and feeling pain, and despite the tremendous number of the bruises in my body, I poured out some water on my body. Before I finish my bath, the Negro soldier came in. I frightened, and I hit him in the face with the water bowl. His reaction was so tough. He raped me cruelly and spit on my face, and then he left and returned with two soldiers who returned me to the cell. The treatment continued that way, to the extent that sometimes I was raped ten times in a day, the matter which affected my health negatively. Nadia continued in revealing the American horrible actions made against the Iraqi women, saying: After more than 4 months, a woman soldier woman came, and I concluded from her conversation with other soldiers that her name is Mary.

She said to me now you have a golden opportunity, since an officer who has a high position will visit us today, if you deal with him positively, you would be released, especially because we are sure you are innocent. I replied, if you are sure of I am innocent, why you don't release me? She screamed in nervousness, the only way that guarantees your releasing is to be positive with them. She took me to the public toilets, and she supervised my bath while she was holding a thick stick, hitting me by it if I didn't perform her orders. Then, she gave me makeup, and warned me not to cry and ruin my makeup. Then she took me to an empty small room where there was nothing but a cover on the floor, and after one an hour she came accompanied with four soldiers who was holding cameras. She took off her clothes and she harassed me as if she was a man. The soldiers were laughing and listening to a noisy music, and taking photographs to me in all poses, and they were emphasizing on my face. The woman asked me to smile otherwise she is going to kill me, and she took a gun from one of her colleagues and fired four bullets near my head, and swore that the fifth bullet will be fired in my head. After that, the four soldiers raped me alternately the matter which made me lose my consciousness. When I regained the consciousness I found myself in the cell and the traces of their teeth, nails and cigarettes are in everywhere in my body. Nadia stopped narrating her tragedy to wipe her tears, and then she continued: After one day Mary came and told me that I was cooperative, and I will be released but after I watch the film that they have shot.

I was in pain when I saw the film, and she (Mary) said: you have been created for the sole purpose for us to enjoy. At the moment I became very anger and I attacked her although I was afraid of her reaction, and I would kill her except for the interfering of the soldiers. When the soldiers released me she showered me with hitting, then they left me. After this incident, nobody harassed me for more then one month; I spent that period in the praying and invocation to Allah, the All-Mighty who has all power, to help me. Mary came with some soldiers who gave me the clothes that I was wearing when they arrested me and took me to an American car. Then they threw me on the highway road after giving me 10,000 Iraqi Dinars. I went to a home that was near the place where I have been thrown out and since I know the reaction of my family, I preferred to visit one of my relatives to let them know what happened after my absence. I knew that my brother had held a consolation board for me for more than 4 months, and they considered me as a dead person. I understand the knife of shame is waiting for me. So, I went to Baghdad where I found a good family who lodged me, and I worked with this family as a maid and governess for their children. Nadia wonders in pain, regret and bitterness: Who will quench my thirst? Who will return my virginity? What is the offence of my family and kin? I have inside me a baby, and I don't know who his father is. And she ends her story here.

Worst rape photos of Iraqi women detainees not yet officially released

by Ernesto Cienfuegos La Voz de Aztlan

Los Angeles, Alta California - May 21, 2004 - (ACN) The new photographs released today of the depraved sexual abuse of Iraqi POW's by the US Military Police on orders of CIA and Israeli operatives at the Abu Ghraib prison still do not show the worst of the war crimes. The photographs so far officially released are, without exception, only of male Iraqi prisoners of war. According to returning Mexican-American soldiers and staff members of Congressmen who have viewed the videos and photographs in private sessions, there are far more shocking photographs that have not been released to the public. Senator Richard J. Durbin himself said "There were some awful scenes. It felt like you were descending into one of the rings of hell, and sadly it was our own creation". Other members of Congress said, after viewing the images, that they included Iraqi women exposing their breasts and other private parts. Congressman Martin T. Meehan said, ''I was obviously shocked and horrified to discover that the new photos are even more gruesome than those we have seen in the media. Some of the pictures and videos show actual intercourse between male and female soldiers." In addition, the May 10-17 issue of Newsweek said that yet-unreleased Abu Ghraib abuse photos "include an American soldier having sex with a female Iraqi detainee and American soldiers watching Iraqis have sex with juveniles."

What also has not been revealed to the American public is that the sexual humiliation of Islamic prisoners and rape of women detainees is actually an Israeli Jewish practice used by the Zionists against the Palestinians. These interrogation techniques were taught by Israeli operatives to the CIA and Military Police at the Abu Ghraib prison and in fact these operatives participated directly in the torture at Abu Ghraib under cover of "private consultants". It is believed that at least three known Israeli MOSSAD agents where at Abu Ghraib directing the torture as "interrogators" in the service of Pentagon "contractors".

Recently, a Palestinian female freed from Israeli detention said more than 15 fellow Palestinian women were raped by Israeli interrogators to force them to confess to charges leveled against them and collaborate with the Israeli intelligence.

"Israeli investigators and intelligence officers keep video tapes of the raping to blackmail the female detainees," she told an Islamic news service, requesting anonymity.

"I have been sexually abused and photographed. When I tried to travel to Jordan after my release an Israeli intelligence officer blackmailed me with the humiliating photos," she said. She asserted that these techniques have been used for years by the Israeli interrogators against Palestinian detainees. "They have used these raping techniques before my detention and continue to use it until today," said the Palestinian woman who spent nine years of her life in Israeli detention. She asserted that Palestinian women shy away from reporting such "disgrace" due to the sensitivity of the conservative Palestinian community. The Israelis also, she added, threaten to widely circulate the rape images if any of us take our complains to the public or the press.

"It appears that the U.S. sexual abuse of the Iraqi detainees at the Abu Ghraib prison is simply a replica of a long-running Israeli practice. Israeli interrogators have more than 25 different torture techniques to extract confessions from Palestinian detainees", said a Palestinian. He added, "The nudity technique used by the Americans against Iraqi detainees is a long time Israeli favorite but unfortunately pictures never surfaced to expose the barbarism and brutality of a country bragging about being an oasis of democracy." At least seven thousands Palestinians, including scores of women, are held by Israeli occupation forces in detention centers and jails.

On May 12, 2004 an Iraqi female professor revealed that U.S. soldiers in Iraq have raped, sexually humiliated and abused several Iraqi female detainees in the notorious Abu Ghraib prison. Professor Huda Shaker, a political scientist at Baghdad University, said an Iraqi young girl was raped by a U.S. military policeman and became pregnant.

Professor Shaker, an Amnesty International researcher, said she knows of other Iraqi females that were arrested, taken to Abu Ghraib prison and raped by the US Military Police. "Iraqi women here are afraid and shy of talking about such subjects," Professor Shaker said. Few women released from U.S. detention have come forward to talk about their experiences in a Muslim society where rape is sometimes equated with shame.

US Senator Ernest Hollings recently said that Bush launched the war against Iraq on behalf of Isreal and to appease US Jews. The Zionist participation in the Abu Ghraib sexual torture scandal proves that Jews are participating in the war directly and in the best way they know how . . . covertly!

The release, by CBS News, of the photographs showing the heinous sexual abuse and torture of Iraqi POW's at the notorious Abu Ghraib prison opened a Pandora's Box for the Bush regime wrote Ernesto Cienfuegos in La Voz de Aztlan on May 2, 2004. Journalist Cienfuegos further states “Apparently, the suspended US commander of the prison where the worst abuses took place, Brigadier General Janis Karpinski, has refused to take the fall by herself and has implicated the CIA, Military Intelligence and private US government contractors in the torturing of POW's and in the raping of Iraqi women detainees as well.

Brigadier General Karpinski, who commanded the 800th Military Police Brigade, described a high-pressure Military Intelligence and CIA command that prized successful interrogations. A month before the alleged abuses and rapes occurred, she said, a team of CIA, Military Intelligence officers and private consultants under the employ of the US government came to Abu Ghraib. "Their main and specific mission was to give the interrogators new techniques to get more information from detainees," she said.

At least one picture shows an American soldier apparently raping a female prisoner while another is said to show a male translator raping a male detainee.

Further photographs are said to depict sexual assaults on prisoners with objects including a truncheon, wire and a phosphorescent tube.Another apparently shows a female prisoner having her clothing forcibly removed to expose her breasts.Detail of the content emerged from Major General Antonio Taguba, the former army officer who conducted an inquiry into the Abu Ghraib jail in Iraq.

Allegations of rape and abuse were included in his 2004 report but the fact there were photographs was never revealed. He later confirmed their existence in an interview with the Daily Telegraph in May 2009.

The London newspaper further noted “graphic nature of some of the images may explain the US President Obama’s attempts to block the release of an estimated 2,000 photographs from prisons in Iraq and Afghanistan despite an earlier promise to allow them to be published.”

Maj. Gen. Taguba, who retired in January 2007, said he supported the President’s decision, adding: “These pictures show torture, abuse, rape and every indecency.“The mere description of these pictures is horrendous enough, take my word for it.”

In April, Mr. Obama’s administration said the photographs would be released and it would be “pointless to appeal” against a court judgment in favor of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).But after lobbying from senior military figures, Mr. Obama changed his mind saying they could put the safety of troops at risk.

In May, he said: “The most direct consequence of releasing them, I believe, would be to inflame anti-American public opinion and to put our troops in greater danger.”

In April 2004, new photographs were sent to La Voz de Aztlan from confidential sources depicting the shocking rapes of two Iraqi women by what are purported to be US Military Intelligence personnel and private US mercenaries in military fatigues.

It is now known, Cienfuegos wrote in May 2004, that hundreds of these photographs had been in circulation among the troops in Iraq.

The graphic photos were being swapped between the soldiers like baseball cards.

Decision Betrays Commitment To Transparency And The Rule Of Law

NEW YORK – The Obama administration announced today that it is reversing its promise to make public photos depicting detainee abuse by U.S. personnel overseas. The Department of Defense had told a federal judge that it would release a "substantial number" of photos in response to a court ruling in an American Civil Liberties Union Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

The following can be attributed to Anthony D. Romero, Executive Director of the ACLU:

"The Obama administration's adoption of the stonewalling tactics and opaque policies of the Bush administration flies in the face of the president's stated desire to restore the rule of law, to revive our moral standing in the world and to lead a transparent government. This decision is particularly disturbing given the Justice Department's failure to initiate a criminal investigation of torture crimes under the Bush administration.
"It is true that these photos would be disturbing; the day we are no longer disturbed by such repugnant acts would be a sad one. In America, every fact and document gets known – whether now or years from now. And when these photos do see the light of day, the outrage will focus not only on the commission of torture by the Bush administration but on the Obama administration's complicity in covering them up. Any outrage related to these photos should be due not to their release but to the very crimes depicted in them. Only by looking squarely in the mirror, acknowledging the crimes of the past and achieving accountability can we move forward and ensure that these atrocities are not repeated.

"If the Obama administration continues down this path, it will betray not only its promises to the American people, but its commitment to this nation's most fundamental principles. President Obama has said we should turn the page, but we cannot do that until we fully learn how this nation veered down the path of criminality and immorality, who allowed that to happen and whose lives were mutilated as a result. Releasing these photos – as painful as it might be – is a critical step toward that accounting. The American people deserve no less."

More information about the ACLU's FOIA lawsuit, which has resulted in the release of more than 100,000 government documents to date, can be found online at: www.aclu.org/torturefoia

Afghan girl raped, killed by US troops

The daughter of an Afghan politician has reportedly died of her injuries after being raped by American soldiers stationed in Afghanistan's southwestern province of Farah.

    Jan 13, 2011

US forces aboard five Toyota Hiace vans transferred the teenage girl along with several other Afghan women and girls to a military base in the province. They then sexually assaulted them, Afghan sources, who requested anonymity, told Iran Newspaper on Network on Wednesday.

Medical reports indicate that a young girl died as a result of severe bleeding that was caused by tears in her genitals from violent sexual penetration.

Two other victims were admitted to a nearby hospital and are currently receiving treatment for serious injuries they suffered following multiple rapes.

However, ISAF has told Press TV correspondent that they cannot confirm this report.

The incident comes as violence in Afghanistan has spiked to record highs since the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001.

Statistics about civilian death tolls in Afghanistan are not available. However, it is estimated that between 14,000 and 34,000 Afghan civilians have lost their lives since the US-led war.

Tens of thousands of Afghan civilians have reportedly lost their lives as a consequence of displacement, starvation, disease, exposure, lack of medical treatment, crime and lawlessness resulting from the war.

Afghan Interior Minister Zemarai Bashary said in a recent report that 2010 was the deadliest year for the civilians in the war-torn country since 2001.

Meanwhile, hundreds of civilians have lost their lives in US-led airstrikes and ground operations in various parts of Afghanistan over the past few months, with Afghans becoming more and more outraged over the seemingly endless number of deadly assaults.

This situation is adding fuel to the fire of anti-US sentiment in Afghanistan and the rest of the Islamic world.

Western public opinion is growing increasingly tired of the war. Deaths of civilians in NATO and US attacks have also fueled tensions between President Hamid Karzai and his Western allies.

The American army has lost 1,455 soldiers in Afghanistan since the beginning of the war.

US forces rape women in northern Afghanistan village: Locals

The residents of a village in northern Afghanistan say American troopers raped several women during a nighttime raid in the rural community.

The locals said that the incident took place in a village in the Chahar Bolak district of Afghanistan’s Balkh Province where US special forces carried out house-to-house searches, Afghanistan Information Network reported on Sunday.

However, the name of the village was not disclosed as the villagers said they had been threatened by the commander of the US forces with “consequences” in case of complaining about the issue.

During the operation, the troopers separated the men and women of about 15 families and raped several women, the locals said.

Since the beginning of the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, American troopers have on different occasions abused Afghans.

Last month, a US trooper involved in the mass killing of Afghan civilians in southern Afghanistan in March admitted to his crimes for the first time before a military court in the United States.

Soldier wounded in Afghanistan accused of raping woman in Colne

Burnley Crown Court has heard Shaun Aspin, of the 1st Battalion Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, was said to have slapped the alleged victim's face and then struck her again when she refused to give him oral sex.

He allegedly raped her, apologised, but then threatened to hit her again, telling her he was going through a rough time and she should just do what he said and perform the sex act on him.

In her police video interview, the woman had alleged the defendant told her: "I don't want to hit you, but you are making me hit you."

Kingsman Aspin, 24, was said by the prosecution to have earlier got 'very, very drunk' in a Colne pub and had gone to the house by taxi after 11pm, shortly before the alleged incident on February 17.

He was alleged to have followed the woman, who lives in the Pendle area, to the bathroom when she went to use the toilet.

She had repeatedly asked him to leave and he had refused.

The woman locked herself in the bathroom and called police.

She then hurriedly got dressed and fled from the property. Officers arrived and the defendant was arrested, the hearing was told.

Aspin, of Portland Street, Colne, denies rape.

Giving evidence, Aspin, who has been in the Army just over four years and is based at Catterick, told the jury he was injured when he was blown up in Afghanistan. The defendant said he came back with a broken neck and memory loss and had been left with flashbacks and nightmares.

Questioned by his barrister, Kathryn Johnson, Aspin said in the pub he knew he was drunk, but felt fine...

...Miss Johnson asked him: " Did you hit her ?" The defendant replied: "Yes, in a sexual manner. I slapped her across the face. I thought she would have liked it."...

4 Members of Afghan Police Are Found Guilty in Rape

KABUL, Afghanistan — Before a packed courtroom in the capital, a judicial panel on Wednesday found four members of the Afghan Local Police guilty of involvement in the rape of a sheep herder’s daughter...

...The four police officers, who are from Kunduz Province in northern Afghanistan, were sentenced to 16 years in prison for the sexual assault in May of Lal Bibi, a woman of about 18...

... Among those held to account was the unit’s commander, Muhammad Ishaq Nezaami. He had ties to many local power brokers and initially appeared untouchable, although local people charged that he had been a chief backer of the assault, allowing his truck to be used and supporting his men who carried out the rape. He was detained only after President Hamid Karzai issued clear instructions that all the assailants were to be brought to justice.

During the trial, Mr. Nezaami denied that Lal Bibi had been raped, saying there had been a marriage contract with one of the men. He then suggested that rape was even more unlikely because she was unattractive. “Unveil her and see her face and tell me if she deserves to get married with anyone,” he said during the proceedings.

After the sentencing on Wednesday, he expressed frustration and anger over the verdict. “I would prefer Mullah Muhammad Omar’s regime to this unjust government,” he said, referring to the Taliban leader.

Several of those watching the trial said the case demonstrated some of the problems with the Afghan Local Police, militia forces trained by American Special Operations troops that are meant to extend security in areas that are remote or hostile and where there are too few Afghan uniformed police officers...

... Lal Bibi, who appeared in court covered by a burqa, testified briefly but was so distraught and weeping so profusely that it was difficult to understand her words.

Afterward, her grandfather, Hajji Rustam, said family members were satisfied both with the verdict — although they would have preferred hanging — and with the government for bringing the culprits to justice...

...The family, who are Kuchis, seminomadic herders who subsist on buying and selling sheep and goats, were terrified by the local police shortly after Lal Bibi’s case came to light. They fled to the provincial capital, Kunduz, for safety...

Rapist Western countries recruit Afghan rapists to do their dirty work. All these people put in charge in Afghan were the warlords, gangsters and rapists the Taliban were fighting before the illegal invasion and occupation.

Afghan prison chief jailed for raping teenage girl

An Afghan prison chief was jailed for 16 years on Tuesday for raping a teenage girl, a rare show of justice for women in a country where they are suffering increased violence and offered scant protection from the law.

Sayed Nasir Ahmad was found guilty of raping Meena Asifa during the holy month of Ramadan three years ago in eastern Logar province, when she was 15.

She had been detained at the prison where he was director after she ran away from home.

"He raped Asifa and threatened to kill her if she told anyone," her lawyer Mohammad Mujahid Moram told a Kabul courtroom. Asifa and her family did not attend the hearing.

Ahmad, who had previously worked as a judge, denied the charges. "I am being framed by the local government because I stopped them unlawfully obtaining land," he said.

A spokesman for Logar's provincial government declined to comment on his allegation.

The Minister for Women's Affairs, Husn Bano Ghazanfar, praised the sentence handed to Ahmad.

"I welcome this. This is one of the ways we can help decrease violence against women," she told Reuters.

Afghanistan's independent human rights commission has recorded a sharp increase in cases of violence against women - it said there have been almost 1,000 cases in the past four months, compared with about 1,300 for all of last year.

And there have been 52 murders of women in the past four months compared with 20 last year, it said. In most cases of violence, the perpetrators were not punished, it said.

On Friday Hanifa Safi, a regional head of women's affairs, was killed by a bomb attached to her car in eastern Afghanistan, a month after a woman was publicly executed for alleged adultery about an hour's drive from the capital Kabul.

During their 1996-2001 reign, the Taliban banned women from education, voting and most work, and they were not allowed to leave their homes without permission and a male escort.

These rights have been painstakingly won back since the ultra-conservative Islamist group were forced from power by a U.S.-led invasion.

But activists and some lawmakers accuse President Hamid Karzai's government of losing interest in women's rights as most foreign troops prepare to leave the country by the end of 2014 and it seeks peace talks with the Taliban.

The Taliban banned the women going out for exactly this reason. It wasn't a permanent ban like the western kuffars say, rather it was temporary till order was restored and the they took care of the rapists and thugs in the streets. A woman's safety, life and honor are a lot more valuable than education or other things. Same people the west called freedom fighters during Russia's occupation are now called "ultra-conservative Islamist group", how hypocritical. Even more pathetic are the Muslims who fall for these lies.

Murder and Rape Rampant in Afghanistan

The latest Afghan rape and multiple murder atrocity reflects countless others. It's because US soldiers are trained to be violent in war theaters and show no mercy. Anything goes and does

Last evening I was watching an episode of Bill Maher on HBO and he put up a copy of the New York Times that showed the 2,000 pictures of Americans killed in Afghanistan since the war began. Having been to Afghanistan I thought how ludicrous it was. Maybe what they should have shown were the more than 36,000 pictures of the unarmed men, women and children who were killed or raped by American forces in Afghanistan. Or the stories of female American soldiers raped or sexually assaulted by their male counter parts in Afghanistan. Then we could all get the real truth about American behavior there. On December 13, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and other groups filed a federal lawsuit seeking Pentagon records in order to get the real facts about the incidence of sexual assault in the ranks.

The Pentagon has consistently refused to release records that fully document the problem and how it is handled. This journalist has filed several Freedom of Information requests to see them come back stating that material is deemed "classified". Sexual assaults on women in the US military have claimed some degree of visibility, but about male victims there is absolute silence.1 in 3 women in the U.S military according to one survey have experienced sexual assault at the hands of their male counterparts in Afghanistan and in Iraq.

Pack Parachute, a non-profit in Seattle, assists veterans who are sexual assault survivors. Its founder Kira Mountjoy-Pepka, was raped as a cadet at the Air Force Academy. In July 2003 she was member of a team of female cadets handpicked by Donald Rumsfeld, at the time the secretary of defense, to tell their stories of having been sexually assaulted. The ensuing media coverage and a Pentagon investigation forced the academy to make the aforementioned major policy changes . But that's all they did was to write a new policy as it has yet to be enforced by most commands.

In May of 2004, as the Abu Ghraib prison abuse scandal was dominating headlines, the Boston Globe printed pictures of what appeared to be the rape of a Middle Eastern woman by American soldiers. The pictures were also published on the Internet and continue to be circulated both online and in print throughout the Muslim world to this day.

The photos helped trigger a firestorm of implied allegation and innuendo that ran in articles with headlines like "Women Raped Before their Husbands" and "American Perverts Gang-Rape Defenseless Women." A trip through the message boards finds that, for many, the rape of Iraqi women by Americans has become a self-evident axiom that is impervious to either proof or disproof. As one writer put it (in trying to justify terrorism), "What else are you supposed to do when you find that American soldiers have raped your mother, your sister and your daughter?"

Given the serious nature of rape, however, one would expect these sensational accusations to be supported by plenty of hard evidence, including an alarming level of reported rape. If Americans are targeting Iraqi women for rape, including young girls and old women, then specific accusations would be made. Defendants would be named. Trials would be held. Verdicts handed down "

But in fact, peeling away the surface of rumor and anecdote reveals" more rumor and anecdote. Instead of an apple, my inquiry discovers the issue to be more like an onion, where the layer below is not much different than the layer above. It's a tough issue to get Muslim women to talk about. In that culture rape carries shame because one's virginity is taken away and they no longer are eligible for marriage. In Islamic culture sex outside of marriage is rare and frowned upon. Adultery and fortification are punished by death by stoning in most Muslim countries. Hence getting women to come forward is sometimes almost impossible and many Americans know that which makes the act seem even more heinous.

On March 24,2011 the German news outlet Der Spiegel published photographs of what appear to be two U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan posing over the bodies of dead Afghans - images which threaten to further complicate the American military effort there. Two images show the soldiers kneeling by a bloody body sprawled over a patch of sand and grass. A third shows what appears to be two bodies propped up, back to back, against a post in front of a military vehicle. Der Spiegel identifies the soldiers as Spc. Jeremy Morlock and Pfc. Andrew Holmes, who are both facing charges relating to the wrongful deaths of Afghan civilians.

Holmes and Morlock are among 12 soldiers from the 5th Stryker Brigade accused of taking part in a plot to murder three Afghan civilians, plant weapons on them and cover up the alleged crimes. Holmes and another soldier Pfc.Gibbs are accused of cutting off some of the men's body parts to keep as war trophies. He faces a potential life sentence in a military prison if convicted and has said the killings were justified under Army rules of engagement. Morlock has already been sentenced to 24 years in prison.

In a low, often mumbling voice, Morlock Thursday detailed how he and his fellow soldiers abused drugs and after Gibbs joined their ranks they plotted to kill Afghan civilians and plant "drop weapons" on the men to make them appear as if they were insurgents. Morlock said he and Gibbs talked about how the "drop weapons" would make it look like the soldiers had first come under attack before firing. They left the timing of the alleged killings, he said, up to chance. "There was never anything planned," Morlock testified. "Like this date, this time. We found an opportunity." Several soldiers are also charged with taking pictures of the corpses, and one soldier is charged with stabbing a corpse.

On March 11, 2012 up to 20 US forces murdered 16 Afghan men, women, and nine children, aged two to 12. Children were massacred while they slept. Two women were also raped before soldiers killed them. Major media scoundrels whitewashed the crimes by shamelessly blaming one soldier to absolve others, and most of all, higher-ups responsible for permitting a culture that condones and encourages them. According to Pajhwok Afghan News: "A parliamentary probe team on Thursday said up to 20 American troops were involved in Sunday's killing of 16 civilians in southern Kandahar province."

Disbelief: Two grief-stricken Afghan men look into the van where the body of a badly burned child lays, wrapped in a blue blanket. 17 civilians were murdered by a U.S. soldier in a horrific house-to-house killing spree. An investigation later found out that about 20 US troops were involved in the rampage and women were also sexually assaulted before being killed.

It spent two days interviewing surviving family members, witnesses, and tribal elders. They also gathered evidence where killings took place. Two groups of US soldiers were involved. Attacks occurred in separate villages one and a half kilometers apart. "We are convinced that one soldier cannot kill so many people in two villages within one hour at the same time." Most victims were women and children. Parliamentarian Hamidzai Lali demanded that the UN and international community ensure those responsible are prosecuted in Afghanistan. Lali said the Wolesi Jirga, Afghanistan's lower House of the People, won't stay silent until prosecutions occur, adding: "If the international community does not play its role in punishing the perpetrators, the Wolesi Jirga would declare foreign troops as occupying forces, like the Russians." I have spent time on the ground in both Afghanistan and in Iraq. In all US war theaters, slaughter, sadism, and other atrocities are institutionalized. Rape becomes a weapon of war. On June 19, 2008, the Security Council agreed, adopting Resolution 1820. It demanded an "immediate and complete halt to acts of sexual violence against civilians in conflict zones." It said: "women and girls are particularly targeted by the use of sexual violence, including as a tactic of war to humiliate, dominate, instill fear in, disperse and/or forcibly relocate civilian members of a community or ethnic group." These offenses also "constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity or a constitutive act with respect to genocide." Former United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture Manifred Nowak said rape constitutes torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment used as a weapon of war to inflict greater pain and suffering. Author Slavenka Drakulic described it as "slow murder." The Nuremberg Tribunal called it a crime against humanity.

Nothing, however, stops it, and UN resolutions fall woefully short. The latest Afghan rape and multiple murder atrocity reflects countless others. It's because US soldiers are trained to be violent in war theaters and show no mercy. Anything goes and does. Women and young girls are especially vulnerable. In May 2009, Britain's Daily Telegraph said former US General Antonio Taguba said the Obama administration sought to suppress images of US soldiers raping and sodomizing Iraqi prisoners. He called photos he saw explosive, saying they "show torture, abuse, rape and every indecency. The mere description of these pictures is horrendous enough. Take my word for it." These and similar incidents aren't isolated. Nor are a few "bad apples" alone involved. They're widespread, tolerated, and sanctioned up to the highest government, military, and intelligence levels in all US war theaters.

Victims are helpless targets, including young girls and boys sodomized with phosphorescent tubes, clubs, wire, and other implements to inflict pain. Instead of holding those responsible accountable, Obama and his predecessor George W.Bush suppressed their crimes. As a result, they continue. The latest Afghan victims represent a drop in the ocean. International and US law principles are ignored. Atrocities follow others repeatedly. Wars reflect more than hell. They manifest generations of condoned US barbarity. It's been institutionalized to permit wanton rape, sodomy, torture, sadism, murder, and virtually all other imaginable atrocities with impunity.

America the beautiful is an illusion only young children and fools believe. Ugly war theater wickedness reveals its true dark side even in America. Its victims attest to how monstrous it truly is.

Allaah is The Most Just. He will punish those evil people who treat others like animals severely. Wait, even animals treat their own kind *better* than those heartless soldiers. They shall burn in hell in eternity.

I pray that the women who has been raped will be given a tremendous strengths and `Ajr for her huge test in this world, inshaa Allaah.

The Dark and Secret Dungeons of Iraq. Horror Stories of Female Prisoners

When women in Iraq are arrested, they routinely go through three gruesome phases, starting with humiliation, followed by torture, and often ending with rape. I have received disturbing information from two different, well informed sources: one from qualified social workers in Al-Kadimiyah Women Prison, the other from three national guards officers who worked in the prison.
The common procedure is as follows:

    During the Arrest

The torture journey starts when security forces raid and search the houses, through random raids or ordered raids. The Fourth Commander of the Second Brigade – Team 6, Major Jumaa Al-Musawi, has confirmed this information. This man has a criminal record, and he was assigned to this position by the American Forces during their first training courses in intelligence gathering. He used to live in Al-Thawra (now called Sadr City) / Sector 87. In his own words:

“When we receive the raid and search orders from the Brigade Intelligence, we usually start with a little party and drink alcohol, or take some drugs. We choose the most cruel soldiers to carry out such operations. The first thing we do is to lock the men and youngsters in a room, and the women and children in another room. We start to steal what can be taken fast, like jewelry, and we mess up the house, like throwing the women’s underwear here and there; some soldiers even steal some of this underwear. After that, we start to do a body search on the women, and having fun touching their private parts or breasts. We threaten them to arrest the men in the house when they refuse to be touched. If those women are pretty, we usually rape them immediately, and leave the house when we find no weapons or incriminating material. In case we find some weapons, every man and youngster in the house will be arrested, and if there are no men at home, we arrest all the women instead. This is totally according to the orders we receive.”

What follows is one of many stories about the crimes committed by these corrupt creatures, who shamelessly brag about their misdeeds to each other. Al-Musawi and his assistant Lt. Rafid Al-Darraji (another criminal who was imprisoned in Abu-Ghraib and sentenced to death, but was released by the Americans, using him as a guardian, along with their own guard dogs, giving him the Lt. rank. He used to live in Al-Nuariyah District. Here is what they state:

“In July 2006, we received an order to raid and search the house of one of the fabric merchants in Karradah (his name is not mentioned). When we reached his house at 1:00 a.m., we didn’t find the man, we only found his wife and his 17 year old son. During the search we found a rifle, which – according to our law – is permitted for the personal protection of civilians. But we threatened the woman that we would arrest her son if she didn’t let us rape her. So, we handcuffed the son and locked him in a room, and one soldier after the other raped the lady in the other room. The other soldiers stole what they could find, then we headed to a well-known brothel in Al-Doura District in Um Alaa’s house to enjoy the rest of the night there.”

They continue: “The first thing we do when an arrested woman is being transported to the detention location, is that every part of her body is touched by all the soldiers in the vehicle, while using dirty language. When we reach the detention facility, we leave her in the investigation room, supervised by the intelligence officer and his assistants. They directly take all her clothes off, blindfold her, handcuff her, then the intelligence officer starts to rape her with his assistant. And later they ask her some questions: if she’s guilty or innocent and so on. Then they blackmail her, saying that she should be cooperative and give important information about the District where she lives, otherwise they would distribute photos of her while she was naked and being raped. They would accuse her of false charges if she would file a complaint about harrassment and torture. If she receives a “guilty” verdict, she usually stays in the same location for a period of one to three months, in order to finish the procedures of her “case”, to be sent to the headquarters. During these months, every single intelligence officer and soldier in the Brigade will rape her. After that, she will be sent to Al Tasfeerat Prison in Shaab Stadium, or to Al-Muthanna Airport Prison. Sometimes the prisoner is transferred to the facility of the Chief Commander’s Office in the Green Zone, which is a cellar under the building of the Baghdad Operations Headquarter, supervised by Major General Adnan Al-Musawi. This place is one of the most dangerous, dirtiest prisons of Al-Maliki.

    Al-Tasfeerat Prisons

This is the second stage of the unfair arrest journey. The female detainee will be sent either to Shaab Stadium Prison or the notorious Al-Muthanna Airport Prison. A group of the worst psychopaths in the government is supervising these prisons, a corrupt committee of criminals of the Military Intelligence, the Intelligence services of the Ministry of Interior, and an Intelligence and Security Representative from the Chief Commander’s Office. This management is appointed by the Iraqi Correction Office through the Ministry of Justice. 45% of its employees are Al-Mahdi Militia members, 30% from the Badr Organisation. The other 25% is divided among the other criminal parties of the government.

This phase is considered as the most barbaric. The security forces, prison guards and members of the prison management practice the most terrible ways of torture, humiliation, profanation, deprivation, blackmailing the prisoners, ethnic and sectarian and political discrimination, and raping men and women without exception. Female prisoners are detained for very long periods, without legitimate accusations or investigating their case. In criminal Maliki’s jails, there are many women who were imprisoned for periods between one year and six years, without any legal representation or procedures regarding their case.

There are many examples of the immoral and brutal practices being committed against female and male prisoners in Al-Tasfeerat Prisons. Some officers from the Ministries of Interior and Defense, the Office of the Chief of Command, and some partisan and criminal militia leaders visit these prisons, and choose some detainees to be tortured for hours and raping them for sectarian reasons. Some of the prisoners die as a result of this brutal torture. Between 2008-2012 Al-Rasafah Tasfeerat Prison recorded the death of more than 250 prisoners, among them 17 women. During the same period Al-Muthanna Airport Prison recorded the death of 125 prisoners, among them three women.

And these torture practices do not only take place in Al-Tasfeerat Prisons, but in all the prisons supervised by the Ministry of Justice, especially the Juveniles Prison, Al-Kadimiyah Women Prison, the notorious Abu-Ghraib Prison, in addition to the secret prisons of Al-Maliki where no accurate records are available about the male and female detainees who died because of the brutal torture they faced there.

It’s worth mentioning that under Al Maliki’s rule, some notorious high risk level prisoners – men and women alike- were released or secretly smuggled out Al-Tasfeerat Prisons, after destroying all the documents and papers related to their cases, on the orders of Ministers and VIPs in the Ministries of Interior and Defense, and the Commanding Chief’s Office. Here are some of prisoners who were “released”:

    1. Radiyah Kadum Muhsin : she was one of the prominent leaders of the Dawa Party, and was released after an order from Al-Maliki himself, and under the supervision of his Intelligence and Security Consultant. She was accused of leading one of the biggest human trafficking criminal gangs that kidnap children and sell them, in addition to prostitution, seducing some officers and government officials, and blackmailing them with their own pornographic photos, or even eliminating them. She was also accused of drug dealing, and forging official documents.

    2. Adnan Abdulzahra Al-Aaraji: he is one of the prominent leaders of the Mahdi Militia, and the head of one of the most notorious gangs known in Iraqi history in terms of sadism, criminality and discrimination. He was arrested by the Americans while he was trying to smuggle 5000 corpses of his victims to Iran during the sectarian wars in 2006. Those corpses were sent to Iran in three cooled vehicles for the sake of human organs trade. He was accused of smuggling antiques, explosives, weapons, and drugs. We mentioned here only two of the prisoners who were “released” from Al-Maliki prisons.

    After The Trial

Here begins the real tragedy. After the arrest, the prisoner – if she’s still alive – has physical wounds all over her body, having many psychological problems because of the unfair trials and the terrible treatment she faced during the time in prison, including torture and rape.

And here is another serious hardship the female prisoners are facing inside the detention centres.

There are women in these prisons with criminal records, convicted for various crimes. The prison supervisors use those inmates to bully the arbitrarily detained, innocent female detainees, imprisoned for sectarian reasons, because of false accusations or reports by secret informants. Those inmates are scaring the arbitrarily detained, watching them, blackmailing them through continuous attempts to find out things about their personal lives. Then that information is used against these innocent women to break them psychologically, through disinformation and lies about the families of those innocent prisoners.

    Various W
ays of Torture of Iraqi Female Prisoners

    1- Physical and Psychological Torture:
the prison supervisors use many different forms of physical and psychological torture, which they learned from their Americans and the Iranians supervisors. These methods include:

    • Taking off the clothes of the prisoners for more than two hours, while insulting them.
    • Beating them hard with sticks, or kicking them hard in the loins.
    • Electrical shocks in their breasts, loins and head.
    • Using all kinds of sexual harassment (we will not reveal more details because of the extreme shameful nature).
    • Recurrent rape after midnight by the guards and other persons who work in the prison, in the presence of the prison manager, because the rape often happens in his room.

Those criminals: the prison manager and the other supervisors, continuously repeat their disgusting acts. They invite other security officers from the Ministries of Interior and Defense to participate in their savage orgies, that always end in rape of the prisoners.

I will mention only one incident I witnessed in Al-Kadimiyah Prison in 2008 and can be confirmed by a social assistant who works there:

In one of the secret prisons of Al-Maliki in the Green Zone, there was a prisoner named A.A.Al-Zaidi. He was a Police Colonel before, and also held a position in the Intelligence Dept of the Badr Org., known as one of the terrorist extremist militias. His task was to assist the Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in getting information, names and addresses of security and intelligence officers from Saddam’s regime, so that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards could find them and eliminate them. His wife was helping him too, along with her cousin who is a lieutenant in the Ministry of Interior Special Commandos, called Sayid Jalal Al-Magsoosi.

A.A.Al-Zaidi was also responsible for recruiting women to carry out suicide attacks in Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Sunni areas in Iraq, especially Diyala and Baghdad. He was arrested by the American Forces while he was trying to illegally enter Jordan with his wife and other three women, carrying spying equipments. His wife and the three women were put in Al-Kadimiyah Prison, but he was taken to Al-Maliki’s secret prison in the Green Zone.

On New Year’s Eve, while the intelligence officers and some interrogators were partying and drinking in the prison, they told one of the guards to bring A.A.Al-Zaidi. The prisoner entered and the drunken officers asked whether he wanted to talk to his wife on the phone. They phoned the manager of Al-Kadimiyah Prison, asking him to bring the prisoner’s wife. The two talked on the phone, and the prisoner was taken to his cell again.

After that, the chief interrogator talked to the wife and said: “we want to party with you and five other pretty friends of yours. We will be coming within an hour to the women prison, so you should all be ready. You will be five and we are six. The prison manager prepared a room for them, and all the prisoners were raped many times by the officers and two of the prison guards. While they were partying and raping the women, they cheered: “hail to Al-Maliki, the pimp, the liar, the thief of Baghdad!”

    2- Deprivation:

    This word does not accurately describe the dire situation of the women in prisons who are devoid from the simplest rights and needs, like;

    • Deprivation of family visits, phone calls, and all kinds of contact.
    • Deprivation of health services, health care, and other sanitary needs.
    • Deprivation of legal rights, no authorization to see or consult a lawyer.
    • Deprivation of regular exposure to sunlight, and having no detergents or necessary disinfectants.
    • Deprivation of complaining to the concerned committees, prisoners are threatened that they should not complain to those committees or else… And even if the prisoners file a complaint, no one will ever listen, because those committees will hear the complaints and then neglect them.

    3- Blackmail and Terrorization:

Female prisoners often receive threats that their family members will be arrested and false accusations are made against the families of the prisoners. The prisoner has to pay a huge amount of money and has to beg to make a phone call to her family. Those who have not enough money can sell their bodies to make a phone call.

This is just a brief account of what is happening in the women prisons. Baghdad alone has more than 3000 women imprisoned. The prisoners are distributed among the following jails:

    • Al-Kadimiyah Prison
    • Al-Tasfeerat Prison in Shaab Stadium.
    • Al-Muthanna Airport Prison.
    • Al-Baladiyyat Prison.
    • Al-Rustumiyah Prison.

There’s another secret prison supervised by the Chief Commander’s Office, containing 65 imprisoned women. The site of this prison is changed regularly. in addition to these prisons other small detention centres are located in different security and intelligence operations headquarters.

Abeer al-Janabi: 14 year old girl gang raped and killed by US soldiers

Do you remember the story of Abeer? A 14 year old girl was gang raped, murdered (including her family) and set on fire by US soldiers in al-Mahmudiyah, Iraq.

Abeer Hamza lived with her mother and father (Fakhriya Taha Muhasen, 34, and Qassim Hamza Raheem, 45, respectively) and their three other children, a daughter – 6-year-old Hadeel Qassim Hamza, a son – 13-year-old Mohammed and his younger brother. Their house was situated approximately 200 meters (220 yd) from a six-man U.S. traffic checkpoint,[7] southwest of the village of Yusufiyah, which lies west of the larger township of Al-Mahmudiyah (in the coalition-termed area “Triangle of Death”).[8]

According to her neighbors, Abeer spent most of her days at home as her parents would not allow her to go to school because of security concerns. The American soldiers would often watch Abeer from their checkpoint, doing her chores and tending the garden. The neighbors had warned Abeer’s father of this but he replied it was not a problem as she was just a small girl.[8]

Abeer’s brother Mohammed (who survived along with his younger brother due to being at school at the time of the killings) recalls that the soldiers often searched the house. And on one such occasion PFC Steven Dale Green ran his index finger down Abeer’s cheek, which had terrified the 14 year old girl.[9]

Abeer’s mother told her relatives before the murders that, whenever she caught the soldiers staring at Abeer, they would give her the thumbs-up sign, point to her daughter and say “Very good, very good.” Evidently this had concerned her and she made plans for Abeer to spend nights sleeping at her uncle’s (Ahmad Qassim’s) house.[10][9]

On March 12, 2006 the soldiers (from the 502nd Infantry Regiment) at the checkpoint had been drinking alcohol and discussing plans to rape Abeer.[11] In broad daylight they walked to the house (not wearing their uniforms)[12] and separated Abeer and her family into two different rooms. Steven Green then murdered her parents and younger sister, while two other soldiers raped Abeer. He then emerged from the room saying “I just killed them, all are dead”.[13] He then raped Abeer, shot her in the head and proceeded (along with the other soldiers) to set fire to the house and bodies.

The neighbors were among the first to discover the scene. One recalled “The poor girl, she was so beautiful she lay there, one leg was stretched and the other bent and her dress was lifted up to her neck.”[10]

This is Abeer whe she was 6 years old:

Below is the recreation of the crime, taken from a concluding scene in Brian de Palma’s controversial film Redacted:

“But on this day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers.
On thrones they will command a sight of all things.
Are the unbelievers not rewarded finally for what they used to do?”

    (Quran 83:34-36)

I didn't think of Iraqis as humans, says US soldier
