What's the deal with Anwar Al-Awlaki. Allegedly on his blog, he praised the Fort Hood shooter. No one knows if it is really him or if someone created a fake blog to attribute it to him. The mainstream media is claiming that he is the "senior recruiter for Al-Qae'da" and that he is connected to Nidal Hasan.

    What are your thoughts?

    First of all brother, Assalamoiralaikoum.

The blog is that of his. In his blog he praised the actions of Nida Al Hasan. According to the media, Nida Al Hasan used to communicate with Iman Anwar Al Awlaki. Till date there is no proof to show that he is part of Al Qaida, despite praising them. Also the Iman is currently in Yemen.

    Allah knows Best.

Here we go again, whenever the main media labels some scholar we must be careful about making any comments without solid proof.
Here the video was about Aqeeda, we are supposed to discuss his video topic, not link him with crime.

It is relevant a those who used to know him well have stated that he has recently begun to harbor dangerous views.

If it is true, then we need to alienate ourselves from his views, as they are outside the pale of Islam.

Now that most rational people believe that Osama Bin Laden is dead, Anwar Al-Awlaki may become the new boogie man. There were reports of his death last week, but they re-invoked him to "bless" the "attack" of the Nigerian boy, AKA the lap bomber.

I've heard some of his tapes on the khilaafat of Umar (RA) and it was excellent info that he had in these talks.
A pirate was captured & brought before Alexander the Great. Alexander asked the pirate: 'How dare you molest the people?' The pirate replied:'And how dare you molest the entire world? I am called a thief because I do it with a little ship only. You do it with a great navy & you are called an Emperor!'
Under this scenario, powerless people doing trivial acts are the major terrorists of the world whilst major powers perpetrating terrorism in many parts of the world are the civilised barbarians.
